Automaton 009 is an event item in Astroneer, and part of the Breakdown Event and the 2024 AMPP.

Automaton 009 can be obtained by opening EXO Dynamics Research Aids with a blue hue on the bottom, or by using or uprooting Ice-olated Specimens in the Caves of the Planets.

Trivia
- Automaton 009 resembles toy robots, with slightly different appearances and colors being swapped on the arms and feet.
- When hit by a rover, the Automatons make a sound that resembles either "ow", "owe" or "haha haha."
