The Small Solar Panel is a power generation item in Astroneer. It is the predecessor to the Medium Solar Panel and is the least powerful of all solar panels. It can be placed on a Platform, Vehicle, the Backpack, or directly on the ground, where it will create a Small Platform.
Small Solar Panels will only produce power while exposed to sunlight. Unlike most solar panels, it is articulated with two joints, allowing it to track the Sun upon exposure. This - in tandem with the small pole that raises the solar panel a few inches above the platform - is an advantage because this allows for longer exposure.
At the poles of a planet, the player may even achieve continuous exposure with a cleverly placed Small Solar Panel.

Uses
- Small Solar Panels will only work when sunlight can hit the panel. It will not function if the Sun is obstructed by terrain or other objects.
- A Small Solar Panel will fill one bar of a battery in 4 seconds.
