Dynamite can sometimes be found on the backpacks of dead explorers or other wreckage.
Uses
When placed, the Dynamite will do nothing, but hovering the cursor over it and pressing the Use key (PC:
, Xbox:
, PS4:
, Switch:
by default) will play a series of beeps before the dynamite explodes. The explosion is fatal to players within the explosion radius.
- Destroys any modules, platforms, trees, and other game objects the dynamite attaches to, with the exception of the Starting Shelter.
- Terrain in a small sphere around the explosion site will be destroyed, harder terrain is more resistant to explosions.
- Resources within the blast radius will be harvested.
- EXO Caches within the blast radius will be broken open.
- Putting Dynamite into a Shredder or a Smelting Furnace will cause it to explode, destroying the Shredder or Smelting Furnace.
- Hydrogen, Methane, Sulfur and Hydrazine are all explosive like dynamite, so when any one of them is exploded all the other explosives in the explosion radius will explode as well. These explosions get larger and larger as more explosives are added.
- When Hydrogen, Methane, Sulfur or Hydrazine explode with dynamite, the resulting explosion has a blue hue.
One main use of Dynamite is to reduce various wreckage objects into smaller Debris, which then can be collected and processed into tradeable Scrap using the Shredder modules. This is the only way to remove and process Detritus (Extra-Large Debris) into Scrap. Another use of it is to crack EXO Caches.
Notes
- Dynamite can be attached to objects without using attachment slots. This allows players to transport as much Dynamite as they need without sacrificing space for other items.
- Unlike real Dynamite there is no threat of premature detonation regardless of how much you throw it or drop it.
