The Breakdown Event is a Limited Time Event in Astroneer. It was added with the Breakdown Update, and is accessible through the 
EXO Request Platform.
The main objective of the event is to have players explore caves to find Ice-olated Specimens and EXO Dynamics Research Aids and print event items for points.
Breakdown Event
The Breakdown Event consists of players finding new EXO Dynamics Research Aids in the various layers of the planets. These new Research Aids have blue and purple bottoms, and require various resources or amounts of power to open. Inside are new event items that are used to obtain points, or to craft higher point value items in the various printers. The rewards for finishing the event goals are various cosmetics and care packages along the way. The Breakdown Event is currently running from January 29, 2024 to April 7, 2024.

Notes
- Players are required to send the items through the EXO Request Platform with the
Medium Resource Canister, which can hold 32 items at a time. Players can also send 8 individual items on the side of the EXO Request Platform, resulting in a maximum capacity of 40 items per launch. Each launch of the rocket costs 0 Bytes, no matter if the rocket has a full load or not.
