The EXO Salvage Initiative is a LTE in Astroneer. It was initially added with the Salvage Initiative Update and is accessed through the 
EXO Request Platform. The main objective of the initiative is to clean up the planets in exchange for exclusive rewards. In 2021, it was named the EXO Cares Initiative.
The EXO Salvage Initiative first ran from April 14, 2020, to June 14, 2020, with the main objective of the initiative to clean up the planets in exchange for exclusive rewards. Gathering Scrap and various bundles of Debris rewarded different amounts of recovery points.

The EXO Salvage Initiative returned on March 25, 2022, and will run until June 14, 2022. It was updated to require an increased amount of scrap to obtain cosmetic rewards. The previous year's items from the EXO Cares Initiative were bundled and were given for completing the first milestone. A new hat, emote, and palette is rewarded for completing the remaining milestones. Care Packages may be obtained after completing all milestones, giving various resources and items.
