Automation

This is fairly simple to semi automate a steel factory due to the simplicity of 2/3 resources used to make it. A basic steel farm will be outlined below.

Carbon- Attach a tapper to a Tappable Flora. Then put an Auto Arm to move the organic to a furnace. Another auto Arm should be used to move the carbon to the chemistry Lab or use an extra Large Platform C due to its ability to hold a smelting Furnace, chemistry Lab, atmospheric Condenser, and a large Resource Canister.
Argon-Use an atmospheric Condenser on the same platform as your Chemistry Lab, or use an auto Arm to move argon from the atmospheric Condenser to the chemistry Lab.
Iron-Put a large amount of Iron on the same platform as you chemistry Lab. You can use various storages for this but the best option will be a large Resource Canister

Notes:

  • It is recommended to put a filter on any auto arms used in this process so they do not grab any unintended objects.
  • this process can be fairly power intensive due to the atmospheric Condenser & chemistry Lab

Trivia

  • The simplified in-game production of steel most closely resembles a modern-day, real-world process that skips the production of pig iron as a separate stage.
